Healthcare experience and a CHHA license are not required for qualified candidates. Home Instead provides paid CHHA training as part of your employment so you can become a NJ Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) and transition into regular client-care assignments once licensed. Paid CHHA training is intended for candidates who want to continue working for Home Instead after licensure and make caregiving with Home Instead their primary, steady job. Participation includes a post-licensure work commitment with Home Instead.

PAID CHHA TRAINING

• You are hired as a Home Instead employee from Day 1, and paid training begins at $18 per hour.
• Approximately three weeks of structured, in-person weekday daytime training, including the NJ-approved online CHHA curriculum, Home Instead orientation, NJ Board of Nursing application/fingerprinting coordination, and paid clinical training and skills assessment.
• During training, you may also participate in shadowing, companion-level assignments, client introductions, and other appropriate training/work activities.
• After your NJ CHHA certification becomes active, CHHA assignments generally pay $19-$25+ per hour depending on assignment type, schedule, experience, and other applicable factors.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Build meaningful relationships with older adults while helping them remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home.
• Once licensed as a CHHA, assist with personal care and activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility support, as appropriate to the client plan of care.
• Provide companionship, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping/laundry, and general safety support.
• Observe and communicate changes in a client's condition or needs to the Home Instead team.
• Support clients living with dementia, Parkinson's disease, and other age-related or chronic conditions after completing applicable training.

FULL TIME AVAILABILITY AND SCHEDULING

• This position is designed for candidates who can generally maintain regular weekday daytime availability, Monday-Friday from approximately 8:00 AM-6:00 PM.
• Additional availability for weekends, overnights, and short- or long-term live-in assignments is strongly preferred and may provide additional scheduling opportunities, but does not replace the weekday daytime availability requirement.
• Our goal is steady, consistent work. Employees who maintain the required availability, Required Service Area, and other applicable criteria may qualify for a minimum weekly scheduling commitment, with opportunities for additional hours.

WHERE YOU'LL WORK

• Assignments are available throughout Ocean County and northern Atlantic County, including but not limited to Lakewood, Brick, Point Pleasant, Jackson, Manchester/Lakehurst, Toms River, Berkeley, Bayville, Forked River, Seaside/Lavallette, Barnegat, Manahawkin, LBI, Waretown, Tuckerton/Little Egg Harbor, Galloway, Absecon, Pleasantville, and surrounding areas.
• During hiring, Home Instead will establish a reasonable Required Service Area based on your home address, travel routes, and scheduling needs. You must be willing to accept appropriate client assignments throughout that agreed service area.

REQUIREMENTS

• Able to fully commit to the approximately three-week paid training period, conducted in person Monday-Friday during daytime hours.
• Able to maintain the required weekday daytime availability after licensure and accept reasonable assignments throughout the agreed Required Service Area.
• Valid NJ driver's license and your own reliable, insured vehicle that is your primary vehicle for work and is consistently available whenever you are scheduled. A shared or borrowed vehicle whose availability may interfere with work does not meet this requirement.
• High School Diploma or GED; NJ resident; authorized to work in the United States.
• Able to satisfy NJ Board of Nursing CHHA licensing requirements and complete required criminal-background screening, drug testing, physical/health clearance, TB/PPD, MMR, and other applicable onboarding requirements.
